“Physics is the new black.” I love this quote!
Physics is in at our house. We love Fringe, Bones, NUMB3RS, and CSI.
Reading “Prime-time TV tunes in to science – Television shows are featuring more science and science geeks, but pros would like them to get it right” by Mary McNamara at The Los Angeles Times, I discovered scientists get really annoyed when Hollywood people do silly things in the name of physics. (I know how the scientists feel, I get personally offended when I see nonsensical business practices on TV or in the movies.)
Besides learning about the Science and Entertainment Exchange — a new program developed by the National Academy of Science to help Hollywood understand scientists and vice versa — I discovered two new blogs that will feed my physics obsession: cocktailpartyphysics.com and asymptotia.com.
Check out this article if you’re a fan of math and science TV shows.
My Action Items:
- Watch The Big Bang Theory
- Subscribe to RSS feeds for cocktailpartyphysics.com and asymptotia.com.
- Triple check my DVR settings so I don’t miss Fringe when it returns Tuesday, April 7.
