Which Alternate Reality Would You Choose?

On May 15, 2009, in Random Thoughts, by Lori Grant

If you could choose a different reality to live in, which one would you choose? Bear in mind, that you don’t know if you you’re an elf, wizard or witch, slayer, ensign or captain, or have the “force.” With all things being equal, would you prefer to live in:

  1. The Chronicles of Narnia universe
  2. The Lord of the Rings universe
  3. Harry Potter universe
  4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe
  5. Star Trek universe
  6. Star Wars universe

My choice Star Trek. I’d could bear not being an elf, wizard, or witch in Chronicles, LOTR, Harry Potter, but I couldn’t deal with not having indoor plumbing! Don’t get me started on the hygiene issues. I’m be to scared to deal with vampires, so Buffy’s out. It would be just my luck to be a slave on Tatooine.

Enjoy this Star Trek clip I just found!

I’d have to pick Star Wars. What if I did have the force, how cool that would be! I agree on the LOTR and hygiene issues, yuck.

Harry Potter. Indoor plumbing is not a problem, remember the prefect’s bathroom? I want to go to there.

I would have to take my chances with the Lord of the Rings verse for the slim chance of ending up as someone fighting alongside Éowyn. Indoor plumbing has nothing on her.

Even if I don’t factor in the hygiene issues, I’d still have to say Star Trek. Seems like more opportunities for women. And the holodeck, now that would be fun.

Harry Potter sounds the funnest! Yes scary but everyone bonds together. Narnia is magical too but, meh.. Never got into LOTR, or Star Trek but my dad did watch it sometimes and actually now I think about it from what I know Star Trek probably would be the funnest. Like Doctor Who but a whole crew to hang out with and the holodeck and some thing which makes whatever food you want?

I love Buffy the best easily but although they all bond together I think I’d be a little too scared.. It really depends on how well I know Willow.. :p

and.. I don’t really know about Star Wars.. the films are good, but I never really wanted to be in them..

my anti-spam word was ‘ellen’ haha

that was the most awesome clip ever, i saw some other clip someone mixed together where it seems like Picard and some guy spend the night together :D Data is funny, I remember an episode where he was trying to sneeze so he was normal seeming, aww

Isn’t that the Star Trek which Sarah hates? I remember her on BwB saying that she just likes the Janeway one ‘cus of Janeway and 7of9 and them being women being in power (I admit Janeway was quite attractive, but I was always a bit freaked out as a kid about how little seven of nine’s suit left to the imagination)

ps. and omg I know more about ST than I thought :S

Good catch S, Sarah likes Voyager over Next Gen. I like them both for different reasons.

I thought the clip was awesome! I\’m so glad I found it!

The magic worlds scare me too much. There always seems to be something really important that you have to know to survive, but of course, you don’t know. I think I’d have to go with Star Trek.

Seems like a lot could go wrong in magic. I’d hate to rely on the other to fix problems like accidentally changing my pet into a cup, but not be able to change it back from a cup to my pet.
