Dance Mix 4 - January 28, 1986

There were only seven songs on this tape that I still love today. The Jets emerged as an interesting family act. Their 12″ vinyl were always great mixes. I have no doubt that I had lots of personal drama going on in 1986, but at least I had good dance music to get through those ridiculous learning experiences.
Dance Mix 4
- I Touch Roses ( 12″ extended mix) - Book of Love: I didn’t discover Book of Love until this song. The extend version has so much energy compared to the LP version. A 5-star song that I never get tired of.
- Curiosity (12″ extended mix) - The Jets: I still love this song. I love the BPM, the bass line, and overall tone of the song. When I play my 80s dance genre in iTunes, this is in my 5-star ratings playlist.
- Screams of Passion (12″ extended mix) - The Family: Sultry song that I don’t play that often, but it’s a good listen.
- Digital Display - Ready for the World: Eh…I liked it, didn’t love it, but it has a catchy groove.
- A Love Bizarre - Sheila E.: I like Glamorous Life better, but this is still a great song to party to.
- Honey for the Bees - Patti Austin: I love this song. Alison Moyet remade it, but I prefer Patti Austin’s version better. I couldn’t find Austin’s video, so I linked out to Moyet’s song.
- Say I’m Your No. 1 (12″ extended mix) - Princess: I love this song. It’s compelling, haunting, capturing all the emotions of 20s angst. I still listen to this song today.
- I’ll be Good - Rene & Angela: Another great song. I find that I really like that BPM (beats per minute). I never did find the extended version. I think I only had the 45.
- My Heart Goes Bang (12″ extended mix) - Dead or Alive: Any Dead or Alive song on 12″ vinyl is worth listening to. I prefer this song over Lover Come Back to Me and You Spin Me Round.
- Computer Blue - Prince: Purple Rain was huge back then. This was actually was one of my favorite songs on the album, probably because of Wendy and Lisa.
- Object of My Desire - Starpoint: Eh…Was this band a one-hit wonder? I think they had another single, but can’t remember what it was.
- How Will I Know (12″ extended mix) - Whitney Houston: Eh…This is when Whitney had an amazing voice up until It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay.
- You Wear it Well - DeBarge: This is a fun song. I was never able to buy the 12″ vinyl, but danced to the extended version all the time in the clubs. Love it that version.
- High Fashion - The Family: Eh…nice, but not memorable.
- Everybody Dance - Tamara: I don’t even remember this song. That’s how much I liked it.
- I’m Your Man (12″ extended mix) - Wham!: Oh brother, this is when George was still hanging out, doing the Wham thing…oh brother.
- Emergency - Kool & The Gang: Eh…
- Your Personal Touch - Evelyn King: Eh…
