Goldbelt, Inc. (GBI) should make a greater commitment to its internship program.
GBI has tried several ways to recruit shareholders into internship opportunities across its business in federal contracting and other business units, and Management has done an excellent job expanding the internship program across its subsidiaries. The challenge is attracting interns candidates willing to move to the East coast for the summer. Management has proposed budgeting funds to help with relocation costs. What more can GBI do to help shareholders into internship opportunities?
GBI can extend the internship program into other geographic areas and industries. GBI can partner with companies willing to host a GBI-shareholder intern—GBI pays for the internship, and the partner company provides the internship position and experience.
This approach expands the GBI internship program into high-density shareholder geographic areas and emerging industries.
